8 Training Modules

Self-Preservation. Uncompromised.

Every module draws from Mark Tucker's operational real-world experience across the Royal Marines, private military contracting, close protection, and elite instructor certifications. Together they form a complete self-preservation system.

Self-Preservation

Awareness

"The sooner you see danger, the more options you have."

The greatest self-defence skill is not punching, kicking, grappling, or using a weapon. It is awareness. Drawing on military operations, close protection, and law enforcement principles, this module teaches you to read your environment before a threat becomes a crisis.

  • Situational awareness and environmental scanning
  • Recognising pre-incident indicators of violence
  • Understanding criminal behaviour and victim selection
  • Identifying suspicious activity and potential threats
  • Observation and assessment skills
  • Managing distractions in public spaces
  • Personal safety planning for home, work, travel
  • Effects of stress and adrenaline on perception
  • Decision-making under pressure

Close Quarter Survival

"Violence doesn't give you distance. This is not sport fighting. This is self-preservation."

Built on military combatives, Pekiti Tirsia Kali, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and Jeet Kune Do — plus Mark Tucker's direct operational experience in Iraq and close protection. Designed for the reality of violence: fast, close, and without warning.

  • Threat recognition and pre-contact awareness
  • Verbal de-escalation and conflict management
  • Dominant positioning and control under pressure
  • Striking, clinching, and close-range counter-attacks
  • Limb control and weapon access prevention
  • Edged weapon awareness and survival concepts
  • Ground survival and rapid recovery to standing
  • Environmental and confined-space survival skills

Throws & Takedowns

"Control begins when balance is lost."

Not competitive wrestling. Not sport judo. A practical, high-percentage system of balance breaking, structured around what works in the unpredictable chaos of real-world violence — when the ground is slippery, the space is tight, and the attacker is stronger than you.

  • Balance, posture, and body mechanics
  • Breaking an aggressor's structure and stability
  • Clinch entries and positional control
  • High-percentage takedowns for real-world use
  • Foot sweeps, trips, and body-lock takedowns
  • Leverage over strength
  • Standing control and restraint concepts

Ground Survival Skills & Tactics

"Your goal is not to fight on the ground. It's to get off it."

Most street assaults end up on the ground. This is not sport grappling — there are no submissions, no points, no referee. Ground survival is about protecting yourself while grounded, neutralising the threat, and returning to your feet as fast as possible.

  • Protecting yourself during a fall or takedown
  • Escaping common pins and controlling positions
  • Defending against ground strikes
  • Creating space against larger aggressors
  • Reversals and recovery techniques
  • Standing up safely while maintaining threat awareness
  • Ground survival in confined spaces
  • Multiple-attacker considerations

Tactical Clinch & Control

"The person who controls the space controls the outcome."

The clinch range — too close to strike cleanly, not yet on the ground — is where most untrained people lose control of a confrontation. This module teaches you to establish dominant positions at close range, limit the attacker's options, and dictate the outcome.

  • Understanding the clinch in real-world violence
  • Establishing dominant positions at close range
  • Head, arm, and body control principles
  • Two-on-one limb control mechanics
  • Preventing strikes and limiting attacker movement
  • Off-balancing and disrupting posture
  • Knees, elbows, takedowns, and positional transitions

Edged Weapon Counter Measures

"This is not knife fighting. Survival is the only victory that matters."

Drawn from Mark Tucker's PTTA Authorised Pekiti Tirsia Kali instruction (under Grand Tuhon Leo T. Gaje Jr.), TRICOM, Military Combatives, and BJJ. Addresses the brutal reality of edged weapon violence — not theatrical demonstrations.

  • Realities of edged weapon violence
  • Threat recognition and pre-contact indicators
  • Awareness, avoidance, and de-escalation
  • Movement, positioning, and distance management
  • Limb control and weapon-bearing arm management
  • Tactical clinch against armed aggression
  • Emergency responses to common attacks
  • Casualty considerations and immediate trauma priorities

Impact Weapons

"This is not stick fighting. This is self-preservation."

Drawing from the same Pekiti Tirsia Kali system that has been adopted by military and law enforcement units worldwide, this module addresses impact weapon attacks across all ranges — understanding trajectory, timing, and the critical moments when defence becomes survival.

  • Realities of impact weapon violence
  • Understanding range, timing, and weapon trajectory
  • Movement and positioning principles
  • Limb control and weapon-bearing arm management
  • Emergency responses to common attacks

Questions

Frequently Asked Questions.

Do I need to be fit or have any prior experience? +

No. All courses are designed to be accessible regardless of age, fitness level or prior training. We teach practical skills that work for everyone — not sport techniques that require years of practice.

Are the courses suitable for women? +

Absolutely. We run dedicated Women's Safety courses and all of our standard courses welcome women. The techniques we teach are based on biomechanics, not strength — they are equally effective regardless of size or gender.

What age can I start? +

We welcome participants from age 14 upward. For anyone under 18, a parent or guardian must be present or provide written consent. Contact us to discuss your child's requirements and we'll find the right course for them.

Are the courses CPD accredited? +

Yes. All C360 Protector courses are fully accredited by the CPD Standards Office (reference #21883). You will receive a certificate of attendance on completion, which counts toward your professional CPD record.

Can I book a private or corporate course? +

Yes. We offer private group bookings and corporate workplace training at a price on application. We can deliver at our locations in Liskeard, Southampton or Wadebridge, or travel to your premises. Contact us for a quote.

Do I need to do the modules in order? +

We recommend starting with Module 01 — Situational Awareness, as it forms the foundation for everything else. However, each module can also be taken as a standalone course. Contact us and we'll help you decide the best starting point.

What should I wear and bring? +

Wear comfortable clothing you can move in and flat-soled shoes or trainers. Bring water and a light snack for half-day courses. We provide all equipment and course materials on the day — you don't need to bring anything special.

Fully Insured. Fully Vetted.

Every C360 Protector instructor — at every location — holds full public liability insurance and an Enhanced DBS certificate. You can book with complete confidence.
