Steve Brown is a BJJ Black Belt under 3rd-degree black-belt Mark Tucker — a true pioneer of British MMA and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Steve's journey into grappling began in 2007 when he joined his first mixed martial arts club, having spent his earlier years training in Tae Kwon Do, kickboxing, and Kung Fu. He went on to compete at amateur MMA level and trained extensively across the UK and USA with some of the country's most exceptional coaches before settling in Cornwall in 2015.

From 1993 to 2020, Steve served in the elite Parachute Regiment — 27 years of military service that took him through the Pathfinders and the Survival, Evasion, Resistance and Escape (SERE) school. Throughout his career he taught physical training, weapons, tactics, combatives, and survival skills in some of the world's most hostile environments. That operational experience gave him something no course can replicate: the ability to teach under pressure, with clarity, and with purpose.

In addition to his BJJ credentials, Steve is a certified Rapid Assault Tactics instructor under Mark Tucker — the close-quarters combat system originally developed by Paul Vunak for the United States Navy SEALs. Combining that with his military combatives background and three decades of grappling experience, Steve brings a uniquely complete and battle-tested approach to every class he teaches.

Steve's lessons are always structured using the military-proven EDIP method — Explain, Demonstrate, Imitate, Practice. Every session is prepared, deliberate, and built around making skills stick. At C360 Protector Wadebridge, that same discipline and structure underpins every class.
